Recently stumbled upon a very adorable explanation of the Qi Gong: 8 Brocade, simple set of exercises that pairs breathing with movements to cultivate and move Qi. This image is titled, "the classroom 8 brocade".  The following are the literal translation of each position. For future posts, I'll explain the key component and important concept behind each movement in additional to my insights on how I remember this set with modern lingo.
  1. Two Hands towards the Sky to maintain San Jiao--the waterways of the body
  2. Left to Right archery Stand
  3. Opposites Hand to regulate Stomach and Spleen functions
  4. Easing 5 Zhang and 7 Emotions
  5. Twisting Tail to drain Heart Fire
  6. Hold two hands on the foot to strength back and waist
  7. Fury Fist to increase Qi
  8. Tip toes to defend from ailments
